Well, Twinnies Tri Club is back into it from this Saturday, we had a great response to the on-line registration and a huge roll-up to Saturdays registration and familiarisation morning.
Over the next couple of weeks we expect many more to register, please arrive before 05:30 there will be crowds, we would like to have everyone through registration by 06:00 and remember, please keep the noise down.
Some pre season house keeping
1. Operational lights front and rear
2. Follow ALL ROAD RULES- no crossing the white stop line waiting for the lights to change.
3. Keep to the left at all times, particularly going up & down Fraser Drive – 80 km/h zone
4. Keep it tight when turning left into Botanical Circuit ( 1st left at the bottom of Fraser Drive Hill)
5. NO DRAFTING – NO DRAFTING – NO DRAFTING
6. Bikes MUST BE racked before removing your helmet
7. When running stay on the footpath past the Tennis Courts and Bilo until you get around the corner onto Darlington Drive
8. When running back, your race finishes at the gate. SLOW DOWN SLOW DOWN, go up the stairs to the lovely time keepers and call your number.
MARSHALLING
This year we have introduced a new rule, to compete in the end of year Club Championships , you MUST have completed at least one marshalling post. To enable everyone the opportunity we have added a few extra ‘SAFETY’ locations , the PINK X’s and Ash Drive Roundabout.
Permission for us to hold out weekly event is given by Tweed Shire Traffic Committee and the New South Wales Police, there are a number of conditions we must abide by; appropriate signage & marshals at Fraser/Amaroo Drive intersection and Woodlands Drive intersection where cyclists are crossing the path of oncoming traffic.
To ensure we comply, there will be a marshalling roster available each Saturday, or you can check out the Marshalling Page. Send an email via the Contacts pagec- see below link. As a priority I need to ensure that Fraser/Amaroo and Woodlands Drive is completely filled before I take any more nominations for two other ‘SAFETY’ locations. If you nominate for a point and find out you can’t make it, see if you can swap with some one or let me know via the contacts page link
RACKING BIKES
Please ensure that your bike is racked alternatively, if you have your handle bars next to someone else on the same side, you need to either turn your bike around and mount it off the seat or find another location.
