There were 68 triathletes on a wet road but conditions were quite nice.

It was a big morning for Kev Bannerman as he completed 501 races. Here are a few memories and stats about Kev

  • First race ever was the 12th December 1992
  • Kev obviously knew how to work the point score from the start – first race 1:04:14 second race 59:33
  • Kev continued to improve over the following years and in November 1997 did his fastest time ever 51:47
  • Even though niggling injuries started to ravage his finely toned body he still managed a time of 59.13 in March 2014
  • Club President – 05/06 & 06/07
  • Pointscore Winner – 01/02

Doug send his apologies for missing the big 500 last week but we agreed how good is it get a 501 towel!!!

Dr Bike Roger highlighted tips for Braking:
*
Don’t be hesitant to use your front brakes – learn to use both brakes evenly
*Practice makes perfect
*Arms to be slightly bent when braking
*Brake pads can go hard and need to be replaced – make sure you check this
*Disc brakes – work well in all conditions and you have a lot more control – safer as well
