It was a beautiful morning to do a triathlon this morning and there were 80 triathletes who came out to enjoy it.The water was so nice it was hard to get out. There had to belots of extra help and organisation this week as Dougy “Scratcher” Neil was away.Jenny and Di on the desk did an awesome job with Vice president Val helping out as well. Kev Bannerman and Kent Holmes were also a big behind the scenes help as well. Everything went smoothly with Doug’s instructional notes by the girls side. We look forward to seeing Dougy back in his seat next Saturday.
Wendy Sanders has at last reached her 100 races today and this has been quite a journey. Wendy’s first race was back in 1993 so thank goodness for Doug Neil’s awesome record keeping!!!!
Emily Roper has become the under 23’s champion for Australian National Time Trials at Ballarat on the 8th January. Congratulations Emily you are a legend.
Dr “Paul” Bike’s – Key points were:
* Making sure your helmet is fitted correctly and if you need help with this your local bike shop will help you fit it
* NO Drafting make sure you are at least a bike length apart
* Do not pass when there is a car behind and make sure you check before you pass
* Pink Crosses – make sure you brake before the corner
* Look out for obstacles on the road
