Twin Towns Triathlon Club has had a strong year in every sense, take away last week and
the first week of the season, the weather has actually played the game allowing for some
great racing this season.
Firstly I’d like to thank all our members for showing up each week, without you we do not
have a club.
I would like to single a few people out:
- Ginny, Greg and Kipp for week in week out putting the signage out to unsure our
safety while on the bike leg. - Guy Davoren for keeping us hydrated each week with the drink station
- Robyn Barry for organising todays breakfast
- And of course our sponsors
- MCS Painting – Danny and Lisa Warner
- Oculus financial – thanks Dave
- Cricks Tweed
- Bendigo Tugun Community Bank
- Kozii Swimwear – Kay Shallcross
- Cricks Tweed
- Tweed Coast Chiropractic Ian and Jenny Kurnow
And lastly to the committee, all your tireless efforts this year have been amazing, and have
kept this club going in a great direction, through innovation and collaboration.
Race numbers started high this year with numbers in the high 40’s, as usual numbers ebbed
and flowed during the year with other various races and training plans playing a part in this.
A total of 81 people started a race this year which is a great sign of growth, we had a steady
number of new members joining us throughout the season which is a great indication our
club is heading in the right direction, thank you to Olly and Tahlia for this as Social Media has
played a large part of our reach to new members.
A teams event was held mid season, in remembrance to past members, this year sadly we lost Kev Bannerman, as usual a lot of fun was had and some new and questionable handover high 5s were conducted.
This season thanks to Josh we tried a new format the Palindrome race, which was well
received and will continue into next season and beyond, this will take over 1 of our teams
races.
Thanks to all members that have provided us feedback throughout the year, we value all
your feedback and encourage this as helps us with future planning, keep an eye out for a
survey in the coming weeks.
Lastly a huge thanks to our outgoing Secretary Rowena your hard work and dedication does
not go unnoticed Thank You, and to Robyn thanks for your hard work establishing new
sponsorship and keeping us fed at the member breakfasts, and keeping memberships and
twin towns club under control.
Thanks again
Tim Eade
